  JOB  PURPOSE ANDSCOPE                                         

To increase the level of relevant skills and knowledge within our workforce through provision of training and learning support to staff and managers. This position will require an organised yet innovative approach to training and development. The focus will be on compliance with all Mandatory Health & Social Care training and Skills for Care, Care Certificate. However, there is an opportunity to develop the role to include other topics as appropriate. The post holder will need to be able to interact with people at all levels within our company.                            




  1. To set up, implement and review appropriate systems and methods for training needs and analysis;
  2. To work with managers and colleagues to develop and implement effective induction programmes andmaterial;
  3. Analysis, design and development, writing, delivery, and review and evaluation of training and learninginterventions;
  4. To arrange, create, produce and distribute training-related material and facilities as required;
  5. To organise, administrate and set up training programmes and events asrequired;
  6. To research organisations and bodies that award grants or provide funding towards training and development. To build useful relationships with external learning providers or facilitators;
  7. To keep accurate training records that are comprehensive andup-to-date.
  8. To deal with enquiries relating to training anddevelopment;
  9. They will support compliance with CQC standards Promoting Quality Care and will ensure that access targets defined by the company directors aremet;
  10. Ensure compliance with statutory duties; performance targets and quality improvement measures;
  11. To ensure that all delegates have been assessed as competent in line with thecompany’s guidelines before being allocatedwork;
  12. To liaise with the departments, team leaders and coordinators to assess delegates training needs;
  13. To ensure that all employees are up to date with their refresher training and mandatory training;
  14. Ensure that all delegates have completed their care certificate in line with statutory requirements;
  15. The post holder will be required to conduct off site training visits to assess employee’s competency and feedback to management. The post holder must be fully proficient assisting people to move and medicationmanagement;
  16. The post holder most assess all delegates Care Certificates and relatable workbooks. They are required to provide all delegates with written feedback and collate relevant evidence before the completion of theirportfolio;
  17. and evaluations are undertaken to determine compliance with Companiesstandards.
  18. To participate in Staff, Team and Quality Management Review Meetings as directed by the Manager. To bring forward ideas and contribute to the relevant discussions.
  19. To participate fully in To manage all aspects of training administration including the Companies bespoke People Planner system is up dated;
  20. To provide monthly reports on refresher training, induction training and training attendance;
  21. To source free and localtraining;
  22. To travel to other work sites to complete observations andassessments.                                                                                                             
  1. Manage own workload and undertake projects or tasks outside the normal responsibilities whenrequired.
  2. Ensure that regular audits probation reviewmeetings.
  3. To report back to the Registered Manager on any aspect of employees conduct which he/she feels warrants investigation or urgentaction.
  4. To carry out administrative duties related to the role including writing notes in the medication sheet, recording sheet, care plans and providing relevantreports.
  5. To liaise with other professionals as and whenrequired.
  6. To familiarise yourself and to comply with (at all times) the duties and responsibilities outlined in the our Health & Safetypolicy.

Skills and Abilities


  • Excellent knowledge of the care industry and regulatory framework
  • Previous experience of completing annualTraining strategies
  • Ability to develop and use databases and recording mechanisms for the collection and analysis of data to drive service improvements
  • Ability to manage workloads to meet targets, bringing set objectives to successful completion within agreed deadlines.
  • Coaching and mentoring. Maintaining effective recording systems.




  • Experience of designing, developing and delivering learning events/programs within a clinical/careenvironment.
  • Managing trainingbudgets




  • Relevant training qualification e.g. PETTALS, PGCE
  • Certificate in Training Practice C&G Certificate in Teaching in Lifelong LearningSector
  • TAQA [Training, Assessment & QualityAssurance]
  • Level 3 Award in Education andTraining
  • Or equivalent
